A Bunch of Amateurs

When fading Hollywood action hero Jefferson Steele is offered the chance to revive his career and star as King Lear in Stratford he imagines standing on the same stage where acting royalty have performed. Instead he finds himself amongst a group of enthusiastic amateurs striving to save their small Suffolk theatre/converted barn from demolition.

Jefferson's vanity and insecurity clashes with the am-dram world, especially when his estranged teenage daughter arrives to burst the bubble of his over-inflated ego.

Can Tinseltown and rural England work together? Can Jefferson find his inner Lear? More importantly, can they shift enough bottles of King Beer in the interval?
